Attendance Management

Absenteeism is a significant drag on the productivity of Canadian businesses.  Canadian employees’ absenteeism rates are considerably higher than those in the U.S. and its hurting Canada’s economic competitiveness.

Too often employers either believe (mistakenly) that there is nothing they can do about employers who abuse sick leaves or they overreact and land themselves in legal hot water.  Although the law does impose heavy obligations on employers to provide sick or emergency leave days as well as to accommodate disable employees, there is much that employers can do to minimize absenteeism while still complying with the law.

However, this area of law is a difficult one and requires thoughtful and strategic legal advice to achieve an employer’s goals while avoiding significant liabilities.  Rely on our experience to help your organization get control of its absenteeism without such liabilities.
